Over the last few decades, employers have continued to struggle with the informal, unstructured and undocumented approach to worker training – the “Bob, this is Jim. Why not show him around” experience. It has worked to a decreasing degree, but is hard to explain, measure, improve or audit. No matter how much “learning” a worker receives prior to employment, this approach can dash the dreams of the worker and the results underwhelm to the employer. Multiply this outcome times every worker touched by it and the cost of unused capacity, decreased performance and compliance, inadaptability to change can be substantial. “Structuring the unstructured” to make it a system and managing it for change is the answer. Transforming an employer’s process-based worker training into a deliberate, measurable, improvable system that quickly drives new and existing workers to “full job mastery;”
Measures and Credentials:
The ultimate measure of each trainee’s achievement is completion of the required related technical instruction and achieving job mastery (demonstrated mastery of every required task of their assigned job classification), for which the Certificate of Job Mastery ProgramTM credential and accompanying portfolio will be conveyed. The portfolio contains a certificate signed by Proactive Technologies, Inc.® certifying the job/task analysis data was utilized by certified lead trainer/checklist administrators to deliver the on-the-job training and the structured on-the-job training records collected; by the partner educational institution director; and by the employer’s human resources and operations managers – attesting to the authenticity of the recorded activities. A copy of the portfolio contents will be archived by the NCOEBWTP office, with copies kept by the lead partner educational institution and employer. An electronic copy of the data will be maintained by Proactive Technologies, Inc.
